Elite Reopen Safety Protocol and Procedures

The following are Elite’s safety policies and procedures set forth by Dr. Filberth and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We are making every effort to provide you with a clean and healthy environment. Elite is so excited to have you back!

Staff Safeguard Procedures

  • Staff will observe all distancing and safety procedures. 
  • Pros will disinfect baskets, hoppers and personal coaching gear regularly.
  • Staff will be vigilant with our overall cleaning and disinfecting plan.

Court & Patio Procedures

  • The front door is for Dr. Filberth’s patients only.
  • Hand sanitizer is provided on every court, entry and exit gates, patio and restrooms.
  • Water coolers, ice machine and towels are not available at this time.
  • During our initial reopen, the ball machines will not be in use.  This allows more members to participate on court.
  • Patio is closed.  Please don’t congregate in courtyard area. 

Member Safety Procedures

  • Sterilize your hands before entering and exiting the facility. 
  • Bring your own full water bottle.  
  • Bring your own towel.
  • Please sterilize your hands and bench after play. 
  • Once home, it is recommended to clean all tennis gear with alcohol-based disinfectant.

You Must Stay Home If: 

  • You’ve been exposed to someone with Covid-19 in the last 14 days. 
  • You’ve had flu-like symptoms, including a cough or shortness of breath in the last 14 days. 
  • You’ve had a fever in the last 14 days. 

Steps to Play

  • At this time, there will be no in-person reservations.  Please call the front desk between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. starting Wednesday, May 6th to book court time.  The front desk will resume hours of 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. starting Monday, May 11th.
  • Please arrive as close to your court time/class/lesson as possible.
  • Members must enter through the north gate.  Please respect social distancing. 
  • As you enter you will see your court assignment posted on the window to the right.  A new can of balls will be on court waiting for you.
  • Please use hoppers for ball pick-up.


  • The clubhouse is available for bathroom use only.  Showers and dressing rooms are unavailable.
  • Limited concessions are available upon request.  Please knock on the side door for service.
  • For racquet stringing and orders, please call the front desk.  For racquet pick up, knock on the side door for assistance. 
  • Only players and coaches should enter the club.  At this time, we cannot allow spectators.
  • For the time being, there will be a no guest policy. 
  • Exit through the south gate only.  There will be ball drops for the used tennis balls.
  • To find out if your class is cancelled due to inclement weather, please call the club and press 1 for the weather hotline.  The weather hotline is updated every half hour.

Adult Programming 

  • Class sign-ups are available 8 days prior to the class and can be made online or by calling the front desk.  At this time, we are unable to make reservations in person.
  • Adult classes will be limited to 4-6 members per court based on the format of the class.  Due to the limited class size, there will be more classes offered.
    • Members may attend a maximum of two classes per week.  The exception will be if you call the day of the class and it’s not full, you will be added to the roster.

    Youth & Junior Programming/Matchplay

    • All parents are required to sign a waiver for their children.  This will be emailed to you on Monday, May 11th.  The player must bring a signed copy to their first day of class.
    Your Child Must Stay Home If: 

    • They’ve been exposed to someone with Covid-19 in the last 14 days. 
    • They’ve had flu-like symptoms, including a cough or shortness of breath in the last 14 days. 
    • They’ve had a fever in the last 14 days. 
    Drop Off/ Pick Up 

    • During this time, the patio is closed.  Elite respectfully asks the parents to watch programming/lessons from outside the facility gates.  
    • Using proper social distancing, Coach Lane/staff will escort kids to and from vehicles/courts.  If your child does not feel comfortable being dropped off you are welcome to park and walk them to the facility gates.  Coach Lane/staff will then escort them to their appropriate court. 
    • All players should leave the facility immediately after play.
    On Court

    • Class size will be limited to 4-6 kids per court. 
    • We will use on-court dots to provide proper social distancing. 
    • Coaching staff will pick up balls using the hoppers. 
    • Pros will disinfect baskets, hoppers and personal coaching gear regularly. 
    • We will be limiting the amount of balls used per class and will change balls frequently.

    • Players need to bring their own water bottles, as the water coolers & ice machine will not be available at this time. 
    • In order to use the restroom or purchase concessions please knock on the side door and someone will assist you.

    Elite Life

    In the Fall of 2010, Elite Tennis and Wellness opened a totally new, state-of-the-art tennis complex in south Johnson County. The club is located one block east of 146th and Metcalf in Lionsgate Marketplace.

    The 100,000 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor facility is the first dedicated tennis complex built in the Kansas City area within the last 25 years.
